The Magical Mom's BTS tips:
www.themagicalmom.com/about.html

1.  Take the week before or even a few days before school starts and start transitioning into a school routine.  Example:  Go to bed 15 minutes earlier each night.  Have quiet activities for the kids in the evening to get them ready for homework time.  Kids need a transition time!

2.  Get a notebook to keep a t your "mission control" area of your home.  In this notebook, keep all info papers that the kids bring home about the school, the classes, and the year ahead.

3.  Plan a special event to officially end the summer vacation.  Make it something fun.  It could be a whipped cream fight, a trip to a water park, or visit to the park or beach.

4.  Get your shopping list and hit the discount stores EARLY.  I like to hit the 24 hour discount store at 7 in the morning.  There is no one there then.  I can get my shopping done quickly, without dealing with rude shoppers and crowded lines.  If you have to take your kids, get them up early to go, too.  Then treat them to breakfast at McDonalds. You'll have plenty of time to do that.

5.  Have a "Back to School Magical Meal" to get everyone in school mode.  During the meal, discuss schedules for the coming year.  Talk about the goals for the school year and how to accomplish them.  Remember, everything positive and uplifting.
